The Best Way To Prevent Skin Diseases-Do It Simply!

Taking care of the skin is not something purely aesthetic. Did you know that by maintaining strong and healthy skin we can avoid diseases? How to get healthy skin naturally? We tell you how!

As you already know, the skin is the largest organ in our body and it fulfills very important functions.

a)    The skin protects us from external aggression, pathogens, allergens, and toxins.

b)    Maintains temperature, defending us from both excessive cold and excessive heat.

c)     Avoid water loss and dehydration.

d)    It helps us to relate to the external environment thanks to the sensory receptors.

If the skin is not healthy and in the right state to be able to fulfill these functions, certain diseases are more likely to appear, and when you already suffer from a chronic skin disease (for example atopic dermatitis) keeping the skin in good condition is even more important.

To keep the skin healthy, you must provide adequate care every day and follow a routine, both for the body and for the face. These habits will help you keep it in top shape.

Body Routine

In many cases, the skin of the body is greatly forgotten in daily care. Shall we wash? Yes. However, we do not care about how or with what. In addition, the shower is the only step we take, forgetting to apply afterwards a product to hydrate and nourish the skin.

Hygiene

It is very important that for daily hygiene you use a product that cleanses your skin without attacking it. Soaps, in addition to removing dirt, impurities, sweat, dead cells, etc., also remove part of the sebum that is part of the structure of the outermost part of the skin.

For this reason, you should not use cleaning products that contain detergent active ingredients, but rather opt for the so-called syndet or "soap-free" soaps that are much more careful with the skin, providing an extra-soft cleaning and providing a sensation of extra hydration.

In addition, the products you use must maintain the pH of the skin at its proper levels. Classic and natural soaps, in general, have a basic pH, so when they are used they raise the pH.

For the skin, a shower is preferable to a bath, and if it is not very long, better. The temperature of the water is also important that it is not too high, better a little warm than very hot.

Hydration

While cleaning the skin, even using a very mild product, part of the lipids from the surface and the protective acid mantle are always removed, so it is necessary that after cleaning a nourishing and moisturizing product is applied to help restore as soon as possible the balance.

As with soaps, we will look for products that, in addition to meeting the skin's needs for water and lipids, are not aggressive, repair the skin barrier, reinforce the saprophytic flora, and calm irritation, in addition to maintaining the pH in adequate acid levels and that do not contain irritating active ingredients.

Facial Routine

The skin of the face is thinner than that of the body and is continuously exposed to the environment, which is why it requires even more continuous and delicate care.

Hygiene

Facial cleansing is recommended twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. In the morning we will remove, in addition to possible remains of the cosmetics that we have applied at night, the waste of natural skin regeneration. At night we will clean impurities, pollution, the remains of cosmetics and/or makeup, etc.

The cleaning product should be tailored to the needs of your skin. Cleaning oily skin that will produce excess sebum is not the same as dry skin that, on the contrary, is deficient in lipids. But in any case, the cleanser used must be specific for the face, respectful of the skin, and modify the pH as little as possible.

After cleansing, apply a toner. It will help restore the skin's pH to its proper levels, preparing the skin for the next steps.

Moisturizing

Moisturizing and/or treating cosmetics must be adapted to the specific needs of your skin. As we were talking about cleaning, oily skin is not the same as normal or dry. And healthy skin is not the same as other that has some pathology, such as acne, rosacea, dermatitis, etc.

The order of application of the products is also important if we use more than one. If the specific product does not indicate otherwise, we will first apply the product with the lightest texture (ampoule, serum, etc.) as it will absorb quickly, leaving the skin ready to apply the next one.

Remember that the most sensitive areas, such as the eye contour and lips, need care with specific products. However, these are areas where we often forget to apply lip balm and contour.

Solar Protection

To finish the daily care routine, we must not forget to apply a product with sun protection. It is an essential step for the health and well-being of the skin since the sun affects us every day and not only when we go to the beach or the pool.

It is true that at the body level the skin is less exposed in winter, but the skin of the face is exposed to the action of solar radiation all year round and that is why it is so important to protect it. For this reason, it is important to have a medium sun protection facial cream and a high protection one for months of high sun intensity.

By following these routines on a daily basis, you will ensure that you have well-cared-for, healthy, and strong skin, capable of adequately defending itself and preventing the appearance of diseases. You know, take care of your skin so she can take care of you!
